Course Description:
In this course, students learn the skills necessary to write an effective college admissions essay. This course covers all aspects of the writing process: considering the audience, brainstorming ideas, preparing the outline, writing a draft, editing, and proofreading the final draft. Special attention is paid to the goal of authentically writing; when students “show-up” in their writing by virtue of their honesty and passion, the end-product is a compelling college admissions essay. Upon completion of this course and homework assignments, students will have several written essays using common college admissions essay prompts.
