SAT/PSAT Intensive Workshop Instructors

Compensation: based on experience
Description:
ACES SAT/PSAT Intensive Workshops are fast-paced courses for students preparing to take the SAT/PSAT. What sets our course apart from others is our balanced approach between lecture, collaborative discussion, and hands-on practice. Instructors will administer tests, facilitate discussion to review and dig deep into the test answers, and perform pre-designed lectures that cover concepts the SAT tests (such as grammar and essay writing) while also providing substantial feedback on students daily essay practice (SAT only).
Qualifications:
- Excellent SAT, ACT, or GRE scores (Top 5% in one or more subject areas)
- Committment to student progress
- Previous experience with SAT tutoring desirable but not required

English Enrichment Instructors
Day/Time: Saturdays mornings and/or Sunday afternoons
Compensation: based on experience
Description:
ACES English Enrichment Instructors teach Critical Reading, Vocabulary, and Writing classes to some of Austin’s most gifted elementary and middle-school students. Instructors are responsible for developing curriculum as well as assigning and correcting weekly homework assignments. Courses are typically 1.5 hours.
Qualifications:
- An excellent command of written and spoken English
- Exciting and engaging teaching style and desire to make creative lesson plans
- Academic coursework in English or Education. Graduate student status preferred.

ESL Instructors

Compensation: depending on experience
Description:
ACES ESL Instructors teach English-as-a-Second-Language courses to small groups of highly-motivated students, both beginners and advanced. The ideal candidate will be comfortable writing detailed lesson plans and have excellent organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- An excellent command of written and spoken English
- Exciting and engaging teaching style and desire to make creative lesson plans
- Academic coursework in Education and experience teaching ESL preferred
